Lucent Oil & Gas (Cyprus) Ltd. is the owner of Lucent Petroleum LLP, and 100% interest in the exploration rights on the onshore Yuzhnaya exploration block, covering 1,314 sq km in the Atyrau and Mangistau region of Western Kazakhstan. The block is located only 15 km south of KMG’s Prorva oil field, and only some 40 km south of the super-giant Tengiz oil field.

Lucent Oil and Gas (Cyprus) Ltd (Lucent) is a privately owned Oil and Gas Exploration company operating in Kazakhstan with a large acreage position on an oil and gas condensate trend. The company is poised to appraise both oil and gas condensate resources as the state commissions new pipeline infrastructure to export gas from west Kazakhstan to China.

Lucent began evaluation of the Yuzhnaya block in 2008. The company has acquired sufficient 2D and 3D seismic and welldata to mature the block to the stage that the company is about to embark on an drilling progarmme, including the appraisal of two discoveries.

The country contains within its boundaries some of the world’s most significant reserves of natural resources, including, oil & gas, coal, iron ore, and uranium.
